Beethoven has always been my "musical God." When I was a small boy, my father put on the record player "The Ninth Symphony" and my life has never been the same since. I soaked up everything Beethoven wrote, and was in rapture about his music. When I read about his life, he became my hero. Somehow, I felt very close to this man through his music. I don't know why this is so; maybe I detected his strength, his vitality, and, above all, his love of freedom. It was Beethoven's music that started me down the beautiful path of Classical Music. Through my love of Beethoven, I became acquainted with Mozart, Hayden, and especially Arthur S. Sullivan.
It has been many years since that time, but still, Beethoven's Nine Symphonies have remained my cornerstone of listening. No matter which symphony I am listening to, I still find new things, new heights of sonic wonder, and such strength and beauty that sometimes I am overwhelmed with passion and awe.
Keep up your beautiful website; I hope it introduces many people to the magic and majesty of the Master's Music.
